AMA Columbia will host an impressive panel of marketing leaders for its first event of 2017, Conversations with the She-Suite: Tuesday, January 10 at SOCO Bull Street. Moderator Chakisse Newton, president of Cardinal Consulting, will lead four of Columbia’s most influential female executives in a discussion of their journey to the top, and the rewards and challenges along the way.
Here’s a quick introduction:
Kim Wellman is Vice President of Communications Strategies for BlueCross BlueShield of South Carolina. She began in 1995 as a communications specialist and was promoted through the ranks to her current position, in which she oversees brand management and the Corporate Marketing Communications department. Among other community service roles, Kim currently serves as president of Katrina’s Kids, a nonprofit that helps fund programs and services for children living in foster care.
As South Carolina Regional Executive Vice President of First Citizens Bank, Sharon Bryant is responsible for retail and business banking in SC metro markets, and retail business and commercial banking in SC community markets. She joined the company in 1999 as Executive Vice President and Director of Human Resources, and has since served as Director of the Wealth Advisory Group, Regional Executive Vice President for Central South Carolina, and President of First Citizens Securities. She is a founding member of Women in Philanthropy and a board member for nonprofits including Central Carolina Community Foundation and the Palmetto Business Forum.
Cathy Love is Vice President of Marketing and Communications for SCANA, where she is responsible for media relations, corporate communications, marketing and philanthropy. Crisis response communications is an area of expertise which gets tested regularly at SCANA and its primary subsidiary SCE&G; Cathy has a seat at the table in the command center for events like the 2015 flood, Hurricane Matthew last summer, and a recent two-day cyber drill. She is a member of SCANA’s Women’s Leadership Group and a board member for the Columbia Museum of Art.
Pamela Lackey is the State President of AT&T South Carolina, responsible for the company’s regulatory, economic development, legislative and community affairs activities in the state. She joined AT&T’s predecessor company, BellSouth, in 1997, and initially served in the business marketing group, where she was the company’s primary interface with education and government customers. Prior to her telecommunications career, Pamela was a professional educator. Actively engaged in community service, she is currently a co-chair of the TransformSC education initiative and a board member of United Way of the Midlands.
